









Edge were appointed to provide architecture and interior architecture services to assist with the extension and refurbishment of the Grade II Listed property, and remodel the exterior landscaping to accommodate a lower ground floor garage.
The existing house was sensitively refurbished using traditional materials and skills to restore it to its original grandeur. The side extension is a crisp, white form, separated from the original house by a continuous band of glazing so new and old styles are definitively separated. Horizontal banding was introduced on the extension to provide visual connectivity between the two architectural ages.
The extension accommodates a garage and gym on the lower floor, and a reading room above, which has a large opening picture window and suspended woodburner, creating a cosy, yet well lit space for all seasons.
