Hub8 GC followed the successful launch of the BQ space and is the first co-working space in Cheltenham to be delivered in partnership with an educational facility. Gloucestershire College have multiple locations in the county, with the Hub8 space located on the edge of Cheltenham adjacent to the GCHQ site.
Edge were appointed to provided interior architecture services to convert the under performing 8000 sq. ft space into a flexible workplace to complement the existing space and services at BQ.
The design concept followed the “analogue” principles established at BQ, with ceilings, structure and services all exposed to provide a human, tactile environment, contrasting the digital services within.

The opening of the hub8 GC space has been a catalyst for further development at the College which now subsequently received funding to provide an Advanced Digital Academy to provide cyber, computing and engineering facilities, as part of a partnership with the West of England Institute of Technology.
